MC MP4.1 set
The mini MP3.1 will impress you with its capabilities. Two 5” midwoofers are not only capable of deep and rich bass, but their smaller size will make them very fast and clear sounding. Their smaller size also makes them easier to incorporate in a living space.
Guiding silky smooth highs
Our custom ring-radiator tweeter is mounted on a beautiful solid wood front panel of your choice. This panel is mounted in front of the main cabinet with a resonance reducing foam. The waveguide has several great benefits, improving efficiency, reducing distortion and correcting for phase errors between it and the midwoofer. Ensuring that both drivers play in perfect harmony and are able to sound as one cohesive unit.
The front panel also covers the midwoofer’s surround, which can also be a source of distortion.
Optionally, this model can be equipped with a beryllium or TeXtreme® dome tweeter.
Coupled woofers to keep the bass under control
Woofers have by far the highest moving mass in a speaker, and every time the cone changes direction, it will exert some force on the cabinet panel it’s mounted to. All of those vibrations will make the cabinet vibrate and cause distortion. In our original patent, we solved this mostly by coupling the woofer to the much stiffer rear panel. But we have found an even better way to handle this problem.
By having a second 5” woofer coupled to the first one, and moving that in the opposite direction, we can basically counteract the forces produced by each woofer and eliminate this completely. The added benefit of having two woofers is that they have to work less hard, this also reduces distortion and adds speed. This means that you’ll not only hear kick drums and other impactful bass sounds like ever before, but also feel this impact.
Finally, the woofers are also mounted only to each other and sealed with a gasket. Having them not screwed to the cabinet directly furthermore reduces the transmission of vibrations and reduces distortion.
